My three-year-old, Mase, still regularly lets us know, “I’m a man!” Β The other day he wore TWO pairs of superhero underwear at once to declare his manliness.

But having two older sisters definitely has influenced my man:

Mase was so disappointed when Dani and Evie got lockets for Christmas.

I want a locket! Β Where’s my locket?

Sorry buddy. Β Santa just brought the girls lockets.

Lockets are for girls.

Maybe you get me Batman locket?

And a fond memory from last week:

Mase and Evie were both angrily screaming and chasing each other around the house. Β Mase suddenly stopped, “Evie, I’ll be your friend, if you give me a makeover.

Grateful Mom Goal of the Day: Appreciating my little man.

  1. He has a good point. They really should make Batman lockets. They could have pictures of Robin inside.

  2. who doesn’t love a good makeover? bear can’t help but play with his sister’s princess castle from time to time, but he’s mostly manly too.

  3. a batman locket! i think mase should pitch this idea – pronto!
so sweet, he follows his sisters. i remember when my brother and i were little. we were always each others shadows. if he had the blue cup, i wanted it. if i had the blue cup, he wanted it.
wishing you a wonderful week!! and an almost happy new year!!!

  4. A makeover…the boy is wise beyond his years!!

  5. So, did you get him the Batman locket or not?? πŸ˜‰

  6. So funny! My little guy’s manliness gets influenced by his two sisters as well =)

  7. So funny! What a cute little man!

  8. I love kid comments like that… a batman locket! that’s great!

  9. How cute!!! πŸ™‚ Ah… little brothers! My nephew is always doing girly things with his older sister; like playing with dolls. It is so cute!! (He pretends he isn’t though… :D)

  10. My son gave my daughter a make-over! Totally cute!

  11. Lol! Too funny. So did he get his makeover?

  12. Ha ha! My little girl turned our giant nutcracker into a robot so that she could play with her brothers who both got robots for Christmas. It is hilarious to see siblings at play!

  13. Aww, that’s so cute! Give me a makeover sister. πŸ™‚

  14. You so need to see if they make Batman lockets!

  15. bahahaha a makeover! my poor husband has to get makeovers compliments of our 3 year old chicklet πŸ˜‰

  16. OMG! A makeover! πŸ™‚ What a lovely little man you have! I wonder what shows you are watching when the kids are around πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ :).

  17. Sweetness all around. Definitely a cute conversation to remember (and remind him as he gets older!).

  18. Uh oh, he knows just what to say to the girls…watch out!;)

  19. He is such a cutie! And a peacemaker too…definitely got it all.

  20. That’s so funny! He sounds like a great kid!

  21. I’m thinking your girls must have been so happy to give him a makeover?
My girls used to dress their little brothers up in dresses and do their hair and nails – Ha Ha. We always laughed so hard.

  22. My 3 y/o son is greatly influenced by his older sisters, much to my husband’s dismay. The other day, my little man stopped everything to do a little ballet move…but he also loves his little recliner and walking around in his underwear – so we’ll see.

  23. He can still be manly and be in touch with his feminine side too. He’ll make a great husband some day. He’ll be able to fix something and then cuddle after:)

  24. Ha Ha Ha…that is SO CUTE! Sometimes I wish my gaggle of boys had a bit of female influence. But, alas….I am the only female in our home of 6 and I’m NOT very girly. My children have NO IDEA what a makeover is. πŸ™‚ or a locket for that matter.

  25. Haha!! Love the “makeover” part! So cute! My 5 year old (boy) still likes to have his nails painted. Perfectly acceptable until he goes to school, right? πŸ˜‰

  26. Hahaaaa… If anyone could pull off a Batman Locket, it’s Mase!!

  27. he has a point. kind of reminds me of this little girl

  28. Glad to hear that my boy is not the only one who wants to be like his big sister!!

  29. Kids, they are so much fun at the ages of your kids. Love this story.

  30. And who doesn’t love a good makeover?

I think you should try to figure out a manly superhero locket!

  31. Lol! I love it!

  32. He seriously sounds like a great kid! Love it!

  33. sounds like a man in the making to me… already learning how to sweet talk the ladies!

  34. I love this post!! I come from a family of all girls so being the mom of a mixed sex family has been a pleasant change. I love how my youngest tries to incorporate the play of his sister to his role of being a boy. Peter put a pair of fairy wings on yesterday and his brother laughed and said, Peter, I don’t know about that. Boys aren’t really faries. Peter laughed and then said to me as if he was teaching me, “Mom, boys aren’t fairies!! Then he just cracked up laughing! I love being the mom of boys!!! (and of course girls too!) Happy New Year! Much love to you!!

    • What a great story! I love all the laughter you have in your home. When I had my girls first, I would have been just fine with only girls, but I’m so grateful I got my boys. It makes things interesting. πŸ™‚ Happy New Year and much love to you too Kathy!

  35. He cleans up very nicely. Hehehe. Ahh get him a batman locket. LOL. Maybe a batman digital watch? Hayden is like that now with Kaylyn, wants her dolls and stuff. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas.

  36. Lol in my case I got my girl a Transformer because she wanted one like her brothers.

  37. Lockets and makeovers? Nice! Very hip and metrosexual.

  38. I’d also love a makeover.

  39. Thedesertrocks says:

Happy New Year to you and your little man!

  40. He sounds like such a sweetie! A Batman locket would be awesome…I would totally wear one, too! LOL.

  41. Well I guess if you can’t beat the girls…then join them right? πŸ™‚

  42. That is so cute! He’s a manly little man who’s in touch with his feminine side! Nothing wrong with that!

  43. He is too funny! I’m sure you could craft a Batman locket for him, right? Glue a little picture of Batman inside? It would be adorable!

Happy New Year! I hope 2012 is a great year for you and your family!

  44. LOL! You can tell his sisters are a big influence!

  45. This is going to be a wonderful post for your little man to read when he’s 16! I love it!! πŸ™‚

  46. Wearing of paired undies? errr.. Let me think about it. Haha. He’s so cute. Well I can say that the makeover thing was really an influence from her sisters. It’s good to know that he’s not bullying his sisters like other kids do. Great of you to raise him nicely.
